ROSWELL, Ga. — A Roswell teen says she woke up to find a strange man in her bedroom during what police believe was a burglary attempt.
It happened Feb. 22 while the teen said she was taking a nap after school.
“I did hear some knocking before, but I didn’t get up because I thought it was just maintenance or something like that,” said the teen, who asked Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik to conceal her identity.
The teen told Petchenik she soon heard someone walking in her home, and then abruptly awoke to find the man in her room.

“He came inside the room and he was staring at the floor. He didn’t notice I was in the bed because I guess I was under the covers,” she said. “As soon as he saw me, he had a blank expression and he ran out of the house.”
The victim told Petchenik she was able to see the man get into a car and take off.
“As fast as I could, I tried to remember the license plate,” she said.
Her sister, Glenda Monge, told Petchenik she’s surprised at how brazen the burglar was. She showed Petchenik where police believe the man broke in through a laundry room window.
“On a main road in the middle of the day, we definitely feel like it was somebody watching the house,” she said. “It’s not right because we don’t feel safe in our house anymore.”
Roswell police told Petchenik they are still investigating the case.
