ATLANTA — Police say several cars were burned after one vehicle caught fire in an off-site parking lot for employees and jurors used by the Fulton County courthouse.
Channel 2's Tom Jones was on the scene where police were in the process of notifying the owners of their damaged and destroyed vehicles.
Officials said the fire started when a driver pulled into the parking lot on Central Avenue with his car smoking. That car caught fire and the flames spread to nearby vehicles.

Eight cars were damaged in all. A deputy's vehicle sustained minor damage.
Workers returning to the parking lot were shocked to find the extent of the damage.
"How am I going to get home?" asked Fulton County employee Jewel Pyle when she saw her damaged vehicle.
One employee rushed to the lot only to find her car was not one of the ones that caught fire.
"I feel so bad for these people, but I'm just so thankful that it was not my car," the worker said.
A Fulton County spokesperson said employees will have to file a claim with their personal insurance company to get their vehicles repaired or replaced.
