RINGGOLD, Ga. — A National Weather Service survey team confirmed a tornado touched down in Catoosa County on Monday.

The NWS tweeted the confirmation Tuesday afternoon, saying the EF-1 tornado had max winds of 110 MPH and touched down just north of Ringgold.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Karen Minton says the approximate time is 7:40 p.m., but that could be adjusted based on radar data.

Several homes were damaged in the storm.

The NWS is still working to determine the start and end points, as well as the width of the tornado.
