GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Gordon County on Thursday morning as severe storms swept through.
The NWS said an EF-0 tornado touched down on the Bartow/Gordon County line and moved north east.
An EF-0 tornado touched down at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday. The tornado had wind speeds of up to 85 miles per hour and stretched for two miles, according to the National Weather Service.
The worst damage happened on East Plainview Road where the storm ripped the roof off a manufactured home.
The tornado also uprooted about a dozen large trees in the same location.
