ATLANTA — Atlanta police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that an off-duty city of South Fulton police officer was shot during an attempted robbery early Saturday morning.
It happened near John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and Jesse Hill Jr. Drive.
City of South Fulton Police Chief Keith Meadows said the two male suspects approached two officers and one of the men got into an argument with one of the officers. That’s when the other officer grabbed his gun and shot at the men.
That officer shot both of the men in the arms and legs, but he was also shot in the stomach in the process, police said.
