SAVANNAH, Ga. — A Savannah police officer said he wasn’t sure he heard right when the call for a six-foot alligator was found roaming around a neighborhood.
Officer Reyes responded to the call, and sure enough, he found the gator in a ditch along Montclair Boulevard, the Savannah Police Department said in a Facebook post.
“Now, he has the same rights as all of us to go on a peaceful evening stroll… um, just maybe not right there,” the department said in the post.
Police said Reyes assisted the “Gatorman” in wrangling the large reptile and helped take him somewhere to “resume his evening stroll” without bothering anyone.
