Winter Weather Advisory issued for parts of north GA ahead of anticipated snow

ATLANTA — Some parts of north Georgia could see 2 - 4 inches of snow Saturday.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of the state north of Interstate 20 from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • A rain/snow mix will move into north Georgia Saturday morning around 5 a.m. - 7 a.m.
  • Mountain regions could see up to 2 inches or more of snow
  • Northern metro areas (Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth and Hall) could see a coating of up to one inch of snow
  • Metro Atlanta will see a rain/snow mix with a dusting possible on grassy areas
