PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities say a fire sparked by construction destroyed a high school gym in Paulding County.
The Paulding County sheriff's office said the fire started Friday afternoon near the roof of the main gymnasium at East Paulding High School.
Fire crews were on the scene all afternoon to extinguish the fire.
The Paulding County school district said the building was being renovated. No students were in the vicinity.
The sheriff's office said there is significant damage to the gym and locker room areas.
There were no injuries reported.
