Once they arrived to the Ashford Place address, investigators found the homeowner, 58-year-old Brian Allan Johns, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies attempted to save Johns, but he was pronounced dead on the scene when paramedics arrived a short time later.
Detectives determined that Johns and the suspect, later identified as 17-year-old Elijah Nehemiah Harris, were fighting when Harris pulled out a knife and stabbed Johns several times.
