ATLANTA — Atlanta Watershed crews have finished the repairs on a water main that broke on Peachtree Road.
Channel 2 Action News has been following the repairs that finished just before 7:30 a.m. Friday.
Officials say water service is being restored to businesses and people who live near the intersection of Peachtree and Colonial Homes Drive.

While the repairs are complete, only the southbound lanes on Peachtree Road will be open. They will work as a reverse lane for traffic in both directions until the road can reopen.

The water main break happened Thursday night on one of the busiest roads in Atlanta.
Channel 2 Action News captured video of a geyser shooting water several feet in the air from the busted pipe. Overnight, Channel 2′s Darryn Moore learned that the pipe was 107 years old and needed to be replaced with 20 feet of new piping.
Officials have not said when they expect all lanes on Peachtree Road to reopen.
