Person of interest in 14-year-old’s death at house party remains unidentified months later

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is renewing calls to identify a person of interest in the shooting death of a 14-year-old.

Deputies said Landon Andrews, 14, was shot and killed at a home on Victoria Road during a weekend house party on Oct. 17.

Deputies arrested Elijah Alexander Harrison, 17, in November. Investigators are still working to identify another person of interest and are asking for anyone who has information to come forward.

“Information regarding the shooting has been difficult to come by but investigators want to identify this person of interest. If anyone knows or recognizes this male they are asked to call 770-928-0239 or 911,” the sheriff’s office said.

Another teen, 19-year-old Jaden Simmons, was injured. He was treated at the hospital and released.

Deputies believe a fight at another party earlier in the evening at the West 22 Apartments in Kennesaw may have led to the shooting.

Video released by the sheriff’s office shows young people brawling and throwing punches inside an apartment. Investigators believe people who appear in the video ended up at a party on Victoria Road later that night.
