GILMER COUNTY, Ga. — A collision between an empty school bus and a pickup truck closed a Gilmer County road for an hour Wednesday morning.
Gilmer County Emergency Management said the crash happened around 6 a.m. on Highway 52, east of the jail.
No kids were on the bus, but EMA said there were serious injuries.
Georgia State Patrol says the truck crossed the center line and struck the bus. The driver, Steven Shaw, 56, was airlifted to Erlanger Health System. The school bus driver, Tina Mulkey, 43, was airlifted to Kennestone Hospital.
GSP said charges are pending.
