DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A Pizza Hut delivery driver is in critical condition after he was shot during a robbery.
Police said two masked men ambushed the driver outside a home in DeKalb County. Neighbors on Tarragon Drive described hearing a commotion Monday night.
"Police officer knocked on the door asked me what I heard, I told her I just heard a pop," Tyree Walker told Channel 2's Ryan Young.
DeKalb police are not yet releasing the driver's name but said two men ordered a pizza, and then robbed the driver.
"I could hear someone say, 'Help,' so I called 911," Walker said.
After the driver was shot he was able to make it back to a Pizza Hut on Flat Shoals Road and waited for help, police said.
Officers spent the night and early morning hours looking for the shooters. They would like to talk to the victim for a description, but so far, he is unable to speak. They plan on speaking to family members.
"It's a senseless shooting," Walker said.
