Plains Post Office renamed for Jimmy, Rosalynn Carter after Biden signs bill into law

PLAINS, Ga. — Among a collection of bills signed into law over the weekend, U.S. President Joe Biden approved legislation to rename the post office in Plains, Ga. after late former President Jimmy Carter and the late First Lady Rosalynn Carter.

Going forward, the U.S. Postal Service facility on Main Street in Plains will be known as the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Post Office.

The push to rename the location came from multiple members of Georgia’s Congressional Delegation and both of its U.S. Senators. The bill’s signing happened just days after Carter died at his home at the age of 100.
