ATLANTA — Police are searching for a masked robber who held up a donut shop early Friday morning.

The incident happened at Happy Donuts on the 300 block of Flat Shoals Avenue in southeast Atlanta.

A spokesperson with the Atlanta Police Department told Channel 2 Action News a man
wearing a trench coat, mask and gloves entered the shop, presented a gun and told the manager to give him money.

The manager opened the drawer and the man took about $80, police said.

The man ran from the shop on McPherson Avenue, entered a car and drove away.

Atlanta police believe two or three other people may have been inside the getaway car.

The manager said the crime was senseless.

“It's sad. Why would somebody come do this? You know, you can make more money doing an honest job, than what you’re doing now," said Daryl Marshall.

Police do not have a car description at this time.

The manager was uninjured and he was only person in store at time of the robbery, police said.

He told Channel 2's Adurey Washington that this isn't the first time he's been robbed.

"The guy that got robbed and got his head cracked open (last year), that was me," Marshall said.

He said he won't let the thieves chase him off.

"These are some crazy people. Can't let them win," Marshall said.
