Police, family seeking public’s help in locating missing 16-year-old girl

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga — Gwinnett County police believe they are out of leads after spending more than a month looking for a missing high school student.

Channel 2′s Matt Johnson was out in Gwinnett speaking with the 16-year-old’s family, who told him they’re getting desperate.

It’s been more than a month since anyone in Susana Morales’ family has heard from her.

“She wouldn’t just go out. And like not tell us,” her sister, Jasmine Morales said.

“It’s hard just eating sometimes, like I’m eating, thinking, ‘What if she’s not eating?’ You know, it’s just that every single day,” Morales said.

There is business surveillance video that Morales’ family believes shows her walking home near Singleton Road and Indian Trail Lilburn Road on July 26.

That was the last day anyone saw her.

“Honestly, we’re just tired of not knowing. That’s like the hardest part,” Jasmine Morales told Channel 2.

Gwinnett police on Monday said they have exhausted all options and need the public’s help to find her.

The Meadow Creek High student is not believed to be in danger, but the longer she’s gone, her family grows more concerned.

Gwinnett police are now asking the public to come forward with information about where she may be or who she may be with.

“Any missing person, especially a missing child, is certainly at risk for all sorts of exploitation,” Sgt. Jennifer Richter said.

Family members have held walks and rallies since they reported her missing and her sister says they just need someone to give them answers.

“We don’t know if she got picked up. We don’t know she got lost,” her sister said.

Gwinnett police said this is a crime stoppers case and anyone with information should call 404-475-tips.
