ATLANTA — Police are investigating a five-car accident on Peachtree Street near Ellis Street in downtown Atlanta.
Polie say officers noticed a black Nissan Altima south of Ellis Street on Peachtree moments before the crash.
Witnesses say a woman was driving northbound on Peachtree Street at a high rate of speed before she entered the intersection of Peachtree Street and Ellis Street.
One witness told Channel 2's Rikki Klaus the woman's cell phone was illuminated before the accident.
A former EMT and current deputy from South Carolina pulled the driver and another passenger out of the Nissan Altima.
Investigators say no one suffered life threatening injuries in this accident.
Six people were transported to local hospitals.
Peachtree was shut down as police investigated.
