Road rage leads to deadly shooting at popular Gwinnett County tavern

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police say road rage led to a deadly shooting at a busy Tavern around 7 p.m. Monday night.

Investigators say the shooting happened near Will Henry’s Tavern on Rockbridge Rd. at Five Forks Trickum Road.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot. He was transported to the hospital by Gwinnett Fire Rescue, but died at the hospital.

Officers say they believe the shooter ran away and investigators used a K9 to search for the shooter.

The motive appears to be a road rage incident that occurred in the parking lot of the tavern, GCPD officials said. Police said the suspect was on a bike and shot the victim in his SUV. A suspect was arrested by officers nearby.

The tavern is across from a busy shopping center as well as the Mountain Park Aquatic Center and is a short drive from Mountain Park Park.

Identification of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
