Police capture escaped Clayton County inmate

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police have captured an escaped Clayton County inmate.

The Clayton County Police Department said Evaristo Ramirez-Avalos escaped around 6:30 a.m. He was a trusty on work detail at the jail when he escaped.

He was taken into custody less than an hour after his escape in the woods behind Tallman Pools, police said.

Police said Ramorvez-Avalos was in jail on misdemeanor charges of giving a false name and reckless conduct.
