Police: Waka Flocka Flame arrested for having loaded gun at airport

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police say Atlanta-based rapper Waka Flocka Flame was arrested Friday for allegedly having a loaded handgun inside his carry-on bag at the airport.

Officers say they found the handgun in a domestic checkpoint lane at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Police say the 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, did not have a weapon permit. He was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon in a prohibited place.

Flame was taken to the Clayton County Jail.
