ATLANTA — An exclusive WSB-TV/Landmark Communications poll shows President Donald Trump has jumped back in the lead in Georgia, but the race for president is really too close to call and well within the poll’s margin of error.

The poll of 600 likely Georgia voters took place on October 7.

Trump now leads 48.6 percent to former Vice President Joe Biden’s 46.8 percent and Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen at 0.7 percent. The margin of error is 4 percent.

The number of undecided voters is just under 4 percent.

A previous Channel 2/Landmark Communications poll conducted on Sept. 30 had Biden ahead 47 percent to 45 percent just one day after their first presidential debate.

ELECTION RESOURCES:

Senate Races

The two races for U.S. Senate are just as close. First, Republican Sen. David Perdue is virtually tied with Democrat Jon Ossoff.

Perdue leads with 47 percent of the vote compared to Ossoff’s 45.5 percent. Six percent remain undecided. The margin of error is also 4 percent.

Libertarian Shane Hazel, who has just 1.5 percent, could play a huge role in this election and force it into a runoff if he holds Perdue and Ossoff under 50 percent of the vote.

The second election for U.S. Senate is also wide open, but among 19 different candidates its really just a three person race.

Right now Democrat Raphael Warnock is leading the group with 36.2 percent of the vote. He’s trailed by two Republicans who are splitting that party’s vote -- incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler with 25.8 percent and Rep. Doug Collins with 23.3 percent of the vote.

It appears very likely that no candidate in this race will get to 50 percent setting up a showdown between Warnock and a Republican in the first week of Jan. 2021.
