Positivity rate of Georgia COVID-19 tests on Friday highest since April 2020

ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Public Health issued new COVID-19 numbers on Friday. The positivity rate is 24.5%, the highest since April of 2020.

The total number of confirmed cases Friday was 7,998. There were 25 reported deaths.

With the rapid surge in COVID-19 cases, The Fulton County Board of Health has recommended closing public facilities temporarily, including senior centers for in-person gatherings.
