ATLANTA — The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is up to an estimated $700 million, the second-largest lottery jackpot in North American history!

The jackpot began rolling June 14 and has rolled 20 times.

You can watch the Powerball drawing Wednesday night LIVE on WSB-TV right before The Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11.

Although there were no jackpot winners in Saturday's Powerball drawing, four winning tickets worth $50,000 were sold in Georgia.

The winning tickets were sold in Augusta, Dillard, Rome and online at mygalottery.com.

Powerball offers two jackpot payment options. You can take the $700 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments, or the cash option, which is approximately $443.3 million.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $18.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education.

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.

More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
