WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump condemned the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas Sunday night, calling it "an act of pure evil."
Trump said he and First Lady Melania Trump extend their deepest condolences to the victims of the shooting in Las Vegas and their families. He said he is praying for the souls of the lives lost.
He directed the U.S. flag be flown at half staff in memory of the 59 or more people that died.

In a tweet Monday, Trump offered "My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!"
President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and wife Karen Pence joined the staff from the White House for a moment of silence Monday afternoon to show their support for those who lost their lives in the attack.
At an afternoon briefing. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders appeared visibly upset about the shooting, tearing up a bit as she spoke about the acts of heroism that have started being reported from the incident.

Earlier in the day, Pence also took to Twitter to offer his condolences.
A gunman's attack on the Sunday night country music concert killed at least 50 people and wounded more than 400.
The attack is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
