ATLANTA — It took less than an hour for all the reservations to be taken for the COVID-19 vaccine at Georgia Publix stores.
The window opened at 6 a.m. for those eligible. By 6:55 a.m. all of the appointments were taken.
When we first told you this story last week, the appointments booked up in minutes.
Vaccines are available by appointment only to people in Phase 1A, which includes first responders, health care workers, individuals ages 65 and older and their caregivers and residents and staff of long-term care facilities.
Publix said vaccinations are provided while supplies last, and at no cost.
Customers with health insurance will need to bring their insurance card to their scheduled appointment. Medicare members should bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Customers without health insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.
