LOS ANGELES — Migos rapper Quavo commemorated his nephew Takeoff on the field as the Georgia Bulldogs celebrated a national title on Monday night. in Los Angeles.
Amid falling confetti and championship celebration, Quavo was asked how he was feeling and responded, “Long Live the Rocket,” commemorating the fallen rapper and family member.

Takeoff, 28, was shot in the head and back as more than 30 people were leaving a private party at the bowling alley in Houston.
Weeks before his death, Takeoff and Quavo put out the “Only Built for Infinity Links” studio album. Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia and attended Berkmar High School.
Police made an arrest in Takeoff’s death in December. Authorities in Houston charged Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, with murder in the Nov. 1 shooting.

Quavo has been known to frequent Georgia sporting events, including Atlanta Hawks games, where he can often be seen sitting courtside.
