ATLANTA — A wintry mix is falling over parts of northwest Georgia that consists of rain, sleet and a little bit of snow.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of extreme north Georgia until 5 a.m. Wednesday because of the wintry weather.
Temperatures dropped drastically throughout the day as rain made its way through the region.

Atlanta hit a high of 68 degrees early Tuesday before the system moved in, dropping temperatures more than 20 degrees across north Georgia.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns said some drier air is expected to move in throughout the night and push some of the wintry weather south.
Burns said parts of the western metro could see some light snow flurries throughout the night and into Wednesday morning.
Chattooga, Catoosa, Dade, Fannin, Gilmer, Walker, Whitfield County Schools and Chickamauga City Schools announced they will open on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday due to the weather.
