Flood watch now in effect until Monday afternoon

ATLANTA — Widespread showers moving through metro Atlanta will continue through the afternoon.

The heaviest rain will arrive Sunday evening, continuing overnight into early Monday morning, Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls said.

Two to four inches of rainfall are expected in parts of metro Atlanta.

A flood watch goes went effect at 8 p.m. Sunday and will last until 2 p.m. Monday. The flood watch includes all of north Georgia.

Two to 4 inches of rainfall are expected in parts of metro Atlanta.

Creeks and streams may flood their banks.

A wind advisory went into effect at 8 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday.

Sustained wind to 25 mph and gusts to 40 mph are expected.

There could be downed trees and limbs during that time, Walls said.
