ATLANTA — Rain began to move into Georgia Saturday night, but fizzled out throughout the night as it moved west across north Georgia.
“This is a very slow moving system,” Walls said.
Walls said as the system moves west across north Georgia, the storms will lose strength and dissipate, leaving a mostly cloudy sky for your Sunday morning

Conditions will remain that way until mid-afternoon Sunday when, Walls said, afternoon heating could cause storms to pop up and become severe.
“It’s mainly Sunday afternoon when I think we have the best possibility for dealing with some strong storms,” Walls said. “The Storm Prediction Center has placed us in a marginal risk for a storm on Sunday.”
Most of north Georgia has the chance of being hit by isolated strong storms throughout the afternoon, with wind gusts up to 40 mph, and the potential for small hail and cloud-to-ground lightning.

“I’m not expecting a washout by any means, but many of us will be dodging those raindrops on your Sunday,” Walls said. “It’s one of those days to be weather aware, especially if you live along and north of Interstate 20.”
Scattered storms will stay in the forecast throughout Monday and Tuesday.
Expect highs near 80 by Wednesday with a 20 percent chance of rain.
