Remains of 1 of 2 missing businessmen from East Point identified after 2 bodies found

FULTON COUNTY — The body of one of two best friends and business partners from East Point who vanished in February has been identified.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said a second set of remains is in the process of being identified.

Jason Salter and Kenny Guerra were last seen together on Feb. 25 in East Point. The two men are both fathers and own Rockstar Lifestyle Print Shop in South Fulton County.

According to friends, Salter’s Altima was found in the parking lot of a Family Dollar and Guerra’s BMW was found at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex.

On Monday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson that remains found on a farm in the Chattahoochee Hills area on March 11 have been identified as Salter, who was 39. Guerra has not been identified.

The farm where the bodies were found is about 25 miles away from East Point.

“Scientists are conducting DNA processing on the second set of remains to get an identification,” the GBI said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said they are investigating Salter’s death as a homicide, but they have not released his cause of death.

Family members described Salter and Guerra as “pillars of the community.”

“They were very special and loved in the community,” Jason’s sister said. “They didn’t have enemies that we know of.”

Family members urged the public to contact the GBI with any information about the case that could help determine what happened and who is responsible.

Police have not identified any suspects in the men’s disappearance and Salter’s death.
