LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in North Georgia said they found remains while investigating the disappearance of a mother reported missing for months.
Tosha Herron's crashed vehicle was found in October 2016 in a ravine along Highway 129 in Lumpkin County.
Authorities said she was driving from Gwinnett County to Blue Ridge in Fannin County.
On Thursday, crews with the GBI, Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office and Gwinnett County deputies found human remains in the Chestatee Wildlife Management area.
Preliminary results from the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office indicate that the remains found are that of Tosha Herron, 36.

Herron's family said she has three children. One of her children was on a military tour in Africa at the time of her disappearance.
GBI officials said there were 12 searches before they found the remains.
"This search was more expansive, so you had a larger territory," said GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles.
Miles said there was one piece of evidence that made investigators believe the remains were that of Herron.
"That rapid response team found a boot that's actually the mate to the boot of Tosha Herron that was found very near to the vehicle after the accident," she said. '
Herron's family said they would have never stopped looking until she was found.
