Roads closed in Cherokee, Forsyth counties due to severe storm damage, downed trees

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Several roads are closed in Cherokee and Forsyth County due to Thursday’s severe storms.

Both the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office posted announcements of the closures on Facebook Thursday night.

Just after midnight, FCSO posted the following message, “This is our final update for the evening. Our dispatchers have received almost 500 weather-related calls, and only 13 are still pending - due to live wires. We will be posting another update around 5:00 am tomorrow (Friday) morning. These roads have been confirmed as cleared for use by our road department. Please be aware that there are limbs and debris along all roadways. Drive with caution, especially with low visibility.”

GA D.O.T. has announced Hwy 9 & Valley Circle Road will be closed until Friday afternoon, due to debris and obstructions.

  • PM at Holtzclaw
  • Twin Lake
  • Briar Ridge Way
  • Martin Road
  • Bottoms
  • Heardsville Cir
  • Dr Bramblett
  • Whitfield Ave
  • Greenfield Dr
  • KM at Post Rd
  • Browns Bridge Dr
  • Samples Rd
  • Wynbrook Bend

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office posted a photo listing all of the roads that are closed due to storm damage.
