ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Rockdale County Sheriff Eric J. Levett announced Saturday that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes has learned that five other employees are also sick, though none of them work at the jail.
Levett announced on April 1st that he had gone into quarantine after experiencing symptoms of the virus. The Georgia Department of Health informed him he did, in fact, have COVID-19 on Saturday.

"Although this was not the news I was expecting, it just further let me know how seriously we all need to take this epidemic and abide by orders that have been in place," Levett said.
The sheriff said he is continuing to work from home through his illness.
The other employees who are sick have not been identified.
