ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — It may have looked like a scene out of a Western.

A local county had to call out professional cowboys to help corral aggressive livestock putting lives in danger in Rockdale County.

One woman said a bull even rammed her car.

Channel 2′s Tom Jones was in Rockdale, where County Chairman Oz Nesbitt said that a feral bull and two very aggressive cows have been a nuisance for the last three months.

They got out again on Saturday, which Nesbitt said would have been a major problem if the animals got on nearby I-20.

Instead, they plowed into a woman’s car as she drove along the access road.

Valencia Allen said she was driving with her 11-year-old son when the bull came out of nowhere.

“The bull ran out in front of my car,” she said. “He hit me. He did ram me and he tore up my car.”

Nesbitt said he was worried that if the animals got on the highway it could cause a major accident.

“The biggest concern is the safety hazard with I-20,” Nesbitt said. “It was quite a scary situation.”

Nesbitt gathered police, fire, animal control and a few professional cowboys on Saturday.

They used drones to find the animals. The bull charged one of the cowboys and then got away and was headed toward the highway.

Officers had to put the bull down. The two cows were hit and killed by a train.

Allen said the animals posed a major threat.

“Had I just not been aware, it could have been a whole lot worse than what it was,” Allen said.

Allen wants to find the owner of the animals and get them to pay for the damage.

Nesbit said counties like Rockdale often have to deal with wild animals, so the situation wasn’t unusual.
