Police searching for man who walked into apartment with gun to child’s head, robbed his mother

CONYERS, Ga. — Conyers police are looking for a man who reportedly barged into an apartment with a gun to a child’s head and then robbed his mother.

Channel 2′s Tom Regan was at the Keswick Village Apartments, where police responded to a call on July 26 after a woman called 911 to report a home invasion.

The woman told police that a man walked into her apartment with a gun pointed at her son’s head.

He demanded money and ultimately stole the woman’s phone and a gun from the apartment.

Police are still working to identify the suspect. They believe the attack was random and that the suspect did not know the victims,

“The 11-year-old was playing outside when he was approached by a male subject,” Sgt. Quantavis Garcia with Conyers police said. “With somebody targeting an 11-year-old and putting a gun to his head, that is outrageous, dangerous. This person does not deserve to be in our community.”

Police said there was also a 1-year-old inside the apartment.
