Deputies said 35-year-old Bryan Lee Grantham was assigned to help kitchen staff prepare breakfast for the morning. He reported for duty at 4:15 a.m.
They said about 30 minutes later while doing a security check, they were alerted that Grantham was nowhere to be found. After searching the jail and looking at internal security cameras, they were able to see Grantham leaving the area just before 4:30 in the morning.
Deputies said there was a black pickup truck that was seen near the jail at the time of Grantham’s escape. They are not publicly saying whether the truck or the driver of the truck is connected, but they are investigating that possibility.
Deputies announced that they had recaptured Grantham Saturday evening around 5 p.m. He was located at an address in Rockdale County. No one was injured.
