The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says a GSP Trooper and his cadet pulled over an SUV for speeding. They say the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Tony Ward, pulled into a gas station parking lot on Sigman Road and started circling gas pumps to try and get away from the trooper.

Once the SUV stopped, the passenger, 41-year-old Chester Williams, got out of the car and started shooting at the troopers. They returned fire and shot Williams.

Williams was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital. There is no word on his current condition.
