Roofing crew working on GA storm-damage homes robbed, assaulted

A family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania found a metal object on their roof and have been puzzled trying to figure it what it is or where it came from.

CLINCH COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working to find those responsible for robbing and assaulting a roofing crew.

Homerville police requested the GBI to investigate after a shooting took place on Dec. 23 at a home on Robinson Street in Homerville, Ga.

The GBI said a man was shot during an armed robbery. He was taken to a hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. for treatment.

Two other men were also assaulted during the robbery, authorities said. They were taken to a local hospital, treated and released.

Authorities said the three men were part of an out-of-state roofing crew working on storm-damaged homes in the area. The men’s ages and identities were not released.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
