ATLANTA — A man received the greatest gift of all this Christmas: His son returned home from the Navy.
Mary Wearn shared video with Channel 2 Action News of the heartwarming reunion between her nephew Sean McCartin, who is active duty in the U.S. Navy, and her brother Joseph.
“His dad was confused at first, then blown away,” she said.

In the video, Sean shows up to his aunt’s house decked out in a full Santa suit and beard. He hands out presents to his family members in the living room and gave his dad a bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey before the big reveal.
“Is there anything that you’re missing sir?” he asks.
“Next year,” Joe replies.
“I think there is one more thing you’re missing this Christmas. Your son,” Sean tells his dad as he reveals it’s him in the Santa suit.
His dad couldn’t believe it and embraced his son in tears.
“He didn’t realize it was me. I could tell,” Sean told the rest of his family.
“I had a tough day. Boy you’ve capped it off real well,” Joseph said.
Wearn told Channel 2 Action News that the whole family was surprised, except her son who helped organize it.
“I had invited Sean for Christmas, but he told me he couldn’t make it. Then he contacted his cousin and said he was going to surprise the family on Christmas Eve.”
Wearn said this is the first Christmas for Joseph since his wife Bonnie died suddenly in May. The couple were married for 40 years.
“So this surprise visit meant the world,” Wearn said.
