ATLANTA — Atlanta police say a traffic stop ended up with two men being arrested after officers found guns and drugs inside their car.
The incident happened Oct. 9 in the 300 block of McDaniel Street.
Police said they pulled over the car for a traffic violation and the responding officers said they could smell a strong odor of pot coming from the car.
Investigators detained the driver and his passenger and began to search the car.

“While conducting their search, officers recovered one handgun that was reported stolen out of Atlanta and an additional handgun that was modified to be fully automatic. Also recovered from inside of the vehicle was an extended magazine, a bookbag containing 518 grams of marijuana, and other miscellaneous items,” police said in a post on Facebook.
Officers arrested the driver, Christopher Hogan, 35, who was already a convicted felon. His passenger, Cordarius Sanders, 23, was also arrested. Sanders was wanted on an active warrant for aggravated assault.
Hogan was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a Schedule II substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal tint.
Sanders was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a Schedule II substance.
Both men were taken to the Fulton County Jail.
