SEC cancels men’s basketball tournament, suspends all sports through end of March

The Southeastern Conference has canceled its men’s basketball tournament and suspended all sports through the end of March.

The conference made the announcement Thursday afternoon in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Georgia men’s basketball team was supposed to play at 3:30 p.m. later today before the cancellation.

Georgia’s spring sports will be suspended until March 30.

The SEC isn’t the only conference to cancel. Here is the list of other tournaments that have been canceled:

The NCAA announced Wednesday that games in the Division I men’s basketball tournament will not be played in front of fans.
