BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Police are investigating after gunfire erupted on a busy stretch of Buford Highway in Brookhaven.
Brookhaven police confirmed that officers responded to a shots fired call around 5:45 a.m. Monday. NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene for Channel 2 Action News This Morning and spotted at least a dozen evidence markers in the middle of the road.

Police on the scene recovered shell casings in a parking lot and in the roadway. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
“When our officers arrived on scene, all parties were gone. But they did locate numerous shell casings in the parking lot of a business as well as in the roadway,” police said.

Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach spotted damaged to a several nearby businesses, including bullets that hit the front of a dentist’s office, two cars parked at an auto shop and at least two bullets shattered the front window of a Waffle House.
Security cameras outside the auto repair shop captured the sound of someone firing what sounded like a full clip from a handgun. Then seconds later, you can hear multiple guns firing and cars speeding away.
Detectives and crime scene investigators worked through the morning to collect all the shell casings, talk to nearby businesses and look at the surveillance video.
No suspects have been identified.
