HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — He has a big heart and a very big bank account.
A video posted to Instagram shows NBA legend and all-around good guy Shaquille O’Neal paying for a man’s engagement ring at a Georgia jewelry store.
In the video posted Tuesday, Shaq passes his personal credit card to the salesman at the Zales location in McDonough. He then shakes the hand of the man who will soon be popping the question with a brand-new engagement ring – free of charge.
“I’m just trying to make people smile. That’s all,” Shaq said during NBA on TNT.
Shaq said he was in the store looking for some earrings when he saw the young man asking about how much it would be to pay off the ring.

And this isn’t the first time Shaq has been generous to strangers. Someone commented on the Instagram post saying that he also bought three iPads at Best Buy.
He also paid for Patrick Martin’s laptop at Best Buy in McDonough in 2020.
Martin said Shaq told him, “I like y’all, so get the nicest one in here and I’ll pay for it.”
