ATLANTA — Tornado damage has been confirmed from Thursday's storms in Talbot County, according to Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan.

A line of rain and storms moved through Georgia Thursday, with some storms turning severe.
A tornado warning was issued for southern Upson County Thursday afternoon. It was canceled around 2:15 p.m.

A tornado watch was in effect until 8 p.m for Butts, Jasper, Lamar, Putnam, and Upson counties until 8 p.m.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said there is likely tornado damage to homes in Talbot County and one injury.

The widespread showers and storms brought lightning and strong wind gusts to areas.
"This system will move through gradually over the next several hours with the cold front," Nitz said.

The risk for severe storms is at the lowest level, but the potential for them is still there.
Some of the storms favored areas south and east of Atlanta, Nitz said.
Temperatures will remain warm, and could reach up to the mid-70s degrees this afternoon.
The next chance of rain and storms comes late Sunday.
