FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. — A U.S. Army National Guard soldier is being charged with shooting and killing a man on an Army installation in east Georgia on Saturday morning.
Natravien Landry, 25 of Abbeville, Louisiana, is charged with murder after he assaulted, shot and killed a man on the Fort Eisenhower post, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

The DOJ says Landry went to the home of a woman who is the mother of his child early on Saturday morning. When he got there, a man was in the house with her. That’s when investigators say Landry shot and killed the man before leaving Fort Eisenhower.
Landry was arrested three hours later in Meriwether County with a 9mm pistol.
Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith says Landry threw a handgun out of the passenger side of the vehicle during the traffic stop.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested and him and took him to the Lincoln County Jail.
Landry is assigned to the 1148th Transportation Company at Fort Eisenhower. His current standing with the Army National Guard is unclear.
He appeared in court on Monday and is scheduled for a detention hearing on Wednesday.
