BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Brandon Smiley, the son of comedian and Atlanta radio host Rickey Smiley, has died. He was reportedly 32.
Rickey Smiley shared the news of his son’s death on social media Sunday.
“I just have bad news this morning. I’m on my way to the airport to get to Birmingham. I just want everyone to pray for me and our family. My son Brandon Smiley has passed away this morning,” he said. “I just want all my cousins and different family members to pray, be strong, and I’m OK. Pray for my son’s mother and siblings. Everyone who was raised with Brandon.”

No cause of death has been announced. Brandon is survived by his parents, siblings and 3-year-old daughter.

Condolences have been pouring out for the Smiley family on social media.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry for your loss. I love you & Im praying for you! ❤️” Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss wrote.
“I’m so sorry Rickey!!!! 🙏🏾💔💔 We love you and we are praying for you !! May God comfort your whole family at this time as well as loved ones!!” wrote Porsha Guobadia, who appeared in an episode on The Rickey Smiley Show.
“Praying for you brother,” New Birth Baptist Church Pastor Jamal Bryant wrote.
