In a statement released Monday afternoon, Georgia football said that Beck and his family are “exploring treatment options” for his elbow injury, but did not go into specifics about his MRI results. The school said there is no time table for his return.
The team did confirm though that punter Brett Thorson is out for the year and will have season-ending knee surgery.
“Carson and Brett are both fierce competitors and extremely hard workers,” head coach Kirby Smart said. “I’m confident they will attack their rehab with the same determination they exhibit in their daily habits. We will be here to support them every step of the way.”

Beck hurt his right arm during the last play of the first half during the SEC Championship Game. He was able to re-enter on the game-winning play of Georgia’s overtime win over Texas.
But after the game, Channel 2′s Alison Mastrangelo spotted Beck in the tunnel, where he was seen barely moving his arm.

The Bulldogs will now turn to Gunner Stockton, who played all of the second half and overtime minus the final play.
Stockton will have plenty of practice since Georgia earned a first-round bye. The No. 2 Bulldogs won’t play again until Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl against the winner of No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 10 Indiana.
