2 teens shot outside metro Atlanta Taco Bell by 17-year-old employee, police say

SOUTH FULTON , Ga. — Police in the City of South Fulton are investigating a double shooting overnight that left a pair of teenagers hospitalized.

Officers say they were called to a Taco Bell location in the 900 block of Camp Fulton Way early Wednesday morning. Investigators said they found a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police confirmed to Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway that 17-year-old Marquis Jordan, a Taco Bell employee, is the suspect in the shooting.

Jordan has not been arrested, but police say they have warrants charging him with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless conduct and several other charges.

He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Jordan or knows where he may be should call 911.

Jalen Jackson witnessed the shooting. He was shocked at what unfolded minutes after he placed his order at the Taco Bell.

“We had an altercation going on with the employee, he got to arguing with us. He went back in to get the gun and come out to try and scare us off. They pulled up, he got into with them two and ended up shooting at them,” Jackson told Holloway.

Both teens were taken to the hospital in serious condition. Jackson said he and his fiancée were caught in the crossfire.

“I had to push her out the car after we finally got the door open and I just laid on top her and hope they went away,” he said.

Channel 2 Action News has reached out to Taco Bell’s corporate office for a statement.

Another shooting happened Wednesday at the McDonald’s restaurant down the street from the Taco Bell. Police do not believe at this time that the shootings are connected.
