SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Ten families have been displaced in an apartment fire in College Park.

A fire tore through the Harrington Park Apartments on Camp Creek Parkway Wednesday afternoon.

The fire destroyed four homes and resulted in a power outage.

“It was huge and stuff started exploding,” Rockquez Bandy said.

Residents jumped into action to make sure everyone got out safely.

“The other two guys kicked in the door and a bunch of smoke just came out of nowhere,” Teisha Walters said.

Firefighters from three different counties arrived to put out the fire, which started in the kitchen of a first-floor unit and spread to other units.
