ATLANTA — Attorney Ben Crump is now representing the family of Amanda Sylvester, the 15-year-old who died after collapsing at volleyball practice in College Park earlier this month.
This family just buried their daughter on Wednesday, and they say they want to make sure no other family knows their pain.
Sylvester died on Dec. 5. She collapsed shortly after getting to volleyball practice at the Tracey Wyatt Recreation Center.
According to 911 records, the first call for help came in at 6:09.
College Park EMS responded and worked on Sylvester but told her mother they couldn’t transport her.

The family’s legal team said Grady EMS labeled it a low-priority call initially and said no ambulances were available.
When Sylvester’s condition changed another 911 call was made.
Grady released a statement saying their second ambulance call was canceled because the mother took her daughter to the hospital herself.
But Grady said College Park had the ability to transport the teen.
The family told Channel 2’s Eryn Rogers that there is a lot of finger-pointing and nobody is taking responsibility.
“I told them we needed an ambulance, and I wanted her transported, and we waited and waited, and nobody showed up,” mother Barbara Sylvester said.
Crump said the next step is getting an independent autopsy. They say they haven’t seen any report from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office yet.
